Welcome to the Forest Of Tsalagi
Welcome to Forest Of Tsalagi Protogrove, ADF. We are based in Athens, Tennessee, USA, which is located in Southeast Tennessee at the base of the Appalachian Mountains. ‘Tsalagi’ is the Iroquoian language for ‘Cherokee’, and we chose this name to honor the beautiful area in which this Protogrove worships and is based. We are part of the international Druid Organization, Ár nDraíocht Féin, A Druid Fellowship. Ár nDraíocht Féin was founded in 1984 by Isaac Bonewits and is now one of the largest Neopagan traditions in the world. Archdruid of Ár nDraíocht Féin is currently Skip Ellison.
Forest Of Tsalagi Protogrove, ADF came into existence on January 11, 2007. Cyndi Jenkins, Grove Organizer, has been a member of Ár nDraíocht Féin since April 26, 2006. She is working through the Dedicant Program offered by ADF and applied for Protogrove status in October 2006. Although we are a fairly new group, many of our rituals will be open to the public. We hold dear to our heart our connection to community, nature, piety, learning and honoring the Kindreds. We are family oriented and welcome newcomers. Membership to our protogrove is open and encouraged for all like-minded individuals. Contact the Grove Organizer for more information.
